Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco

About the Book- Hunting Prince Dracula

Following the grief and horror of her discovery of Jack the Ripper’s true identity, Audrey Rose Wadsworth has no choice but to flee London and its memories. Together with the arrogant yet charming Thomas Cresswell, she journeys to the dark heart of Romania, home to one of Europe’s best schools of forensic medicine… and to another notorious killer, Vlad the Impaler, whose thirst for blood became legend.

But her life’s dream is soon tainted by blood-soaked discoveries in the halls of the school’s forbidding castle, and Audrey Rose is compelled to investigate the strangely familiar murders. What she finds brings all her terrifying fears to life once again.

In this New York Times bestselling sequel to Kerri Maniscalco’s haunting #1 debut Stalking Jack the Ripper, bizarre murders are discovered in the castle of Prince Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Dracula. Could it be a copycat killer…or has the depraved prince been brought back to life?

So yeah I was on board with the book because of the two central characters and their chemistry but I am getting addicted because of the plot strengths.

Our Review of Hunting Prince Dracula

I don’t think I have to say separately that this book and the whole series is simply amazing. I know I am late to join the club and my continuity with the series has been haphazard. There had been huge intervals between each of the books that I have read. No matter how long I take to get back to the series, it’s always exhilarating.

I love how the series just twists the classics to make such an impactful story. One of the facts I adore in this book is the romance. The reason for this is because the romance in the book is not forced upon or given so much weightage or sugar-coating that it feels icky. The romance in the book is served like a six-course meal. In small portions and at its right time. I like that kind of treatment because it leaves you craving for more and yet fulfilling in its way. You have to appreciate the writing if the author manages to bring out the romance and passion between the two central characters when they barely have kissed or for that matter even touched each other. I think that is what is so gorgeous and hot about this romance. It is portrayed through subtle gestures, stolen glances and brushes of fingers ….. oh !! be still my beating heart

I ship Audrey and Thomas

Conclusion

So far with the two books, I have read, I have truly felt that the author had explored and experimented with the full potential of the theme at hand. It was a tricky business to pick a theme that readers associate in a particular way and then completely twist it to a different and unexpected angle. Even with a subtle tip of the scale, it could have gone bad but that’s the beauty of the series that you don’t feel that classic has been breached but yet it offers something different and fresh.

First ripper, then Dracula and now next is Houdini … oh I can’t wait to pick up the series again
