Our Review of Kingdom of the Feared
I tried hard. I did as much I could to get into the flow of the book but even after going through all three books in the series it simply refuses to be anything less than erotica. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement because I am more likely to fart fire because of all the fury.
The book is through and through erotica and just pretends that it is not by adding some events and plot developments in between. I can’t believe that the sequels all refused to do anything with the first book. The first book was so good and filled with such an exciting story that I had fallen in love almost immediately. Naturally, when the sequel came, I went in without any second thought. Big mistake. It’s like somebody told the author that to grab eyeballs she should add more “oomph” and she took it as a sign to add grunts and moans…if you get my drift.
A bit of smut or hot action is ok considering that we are talking about a literal prince of hell and ultimate bad boy but to fill an entire book with it without no actual context or sense is simply something I couldn’t wrap around. It’s because I had loved the first book so much and had found the whole volatile chemistry between wrath and Emilia that I am so pissed and heartbroken. The sequels Simply ruined the magic and unnecessarily just polluting it.
To be honest with the constant grinding and mortaring I couldn’t get to the actual plot and development because even in between something as serious as a literal war/fight the characters are so busy lusting. The enemy is knocking at the door challenging to a fight and the characters are scheduling the next grinding session ….I mean come on man,
I can’t believe this comes from the author who had given me one of my favourite romantic couples in the stalking Jack the Ripper series ( maybe I should get back to that to calm my murderous veins)
I don’t even remember what happened in the second book and with all the focus on boing boing in the finale it didn’t even matter. In this finale where it should have been more interesting plot developments, the book is filled with more and more hot scenes. Since the book needs to come to its end, it sort of all comes down with a lot of complicated and multi-level events and backstories just to fill in the blanks and somewhat appease all who came along this far in the series.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I would say that if you haven’t still got all my rants then let me tell you that this book is nothing but smut in all caps. SMUT. For every small plot development, you will be rewarded with three pages of hot scenes. So if you ask me what happened in the series I would only say that a girl summoned a demon and he took her underground and they kept effing figuratively and literally. If possible it’s better to stop at the first book in the series to get out unscathed and tormented or after the first book you are bothered by all the questions, pick up this book read the last few chapters and should do the trick.
