While that can also be true their male counterparts, it’s very unlikely. Sexual reasons top the list for male serial killers. Case studies have also shown that female killers generally kill people close to them, such as husbands, family members, or people dependent on them. Males kill strangers more often.

Wow, talk about gruesome crimes and this book just takes the prize. I picked up the book thinking it to be yet another murder mystery but the book turned out to be so much more than I bargained for but in a very good way. The MC is interesting but I love how there is this set of characters that stands equally strong. Now that I have been going through the series one by one I can say that these secondary characters becomes more and more strong and part of the charm of the whole series.
The weak heart should stay away because the whole series is a game on how gruesome and violent it can be. Needless to say, this book took me by surprise but what is more surprising for me is the brain that is behind all the stories. It makes me wonder about the whole thought process of the author and the research that goes into his stories. The reason why I say this is because as you enter the story premises, you will notice the attention the book pays to each detail. Be it the scientific and medical explanations or be it the investigative track, or even the mere camaraderie between the team in the book.
I had this book on audiobook and the app (storytel) kept playing the series one after another and I kept listening to it on a stretch. Even though I am not a fan of the audiobook ( I have a feeling that this sentiment would be a recurring theme for the reviews to come by for the series). The narration can feel a bit robotic but what I enjoyed is the story progression. It’s a murder mystery, so of course, there is the element of thrill and suspense but apart from that the pace and the plot has a charm to it that makes it so immersive
Conclusion
In conclusion, do not pick this book if you don’t take gore with your tea 😛 Trust me I am not exaggerating when I say that this book is violent, gruesome and fodder for the nightmare. The same reasons, although do make this book more lucrative and enticing. It is scary but addictive too. There is a flow to the whole story plot that makes it so easy to absorb and indulge.
