Since we had just finished reading and reviewing Stephen King’s latest novel, Fairy Tale, we couldn’t control our excitement over learning that the book is getting its screen adaptation. well, more than excited we are shocked. why? Because according to Collider magazine, the movie rights were optioned out just mere weeks after the book’s release.
The Project Heads
Paul Greengrass, the hit filmmaker behind The Bourne series will be the one to take on this project and Greg Goodman will be producing the film
Stephen King speaking on the adaptation project said
“needless to say, I’m a Paul Greengrass fan and think he’s a wonderful choice for this film.”
While Greengrass said on the Stephen King Novel
“Fairy Tale is a work of genius. A classic adventure story and also a disturbing contemporary allegory.”
As of now not much has been out for the project but we sure are excited to see how the adaptation will turn out because the book as we mentioned in our review is a weird yet full of adventure ride and if extracted its world and creatures correctly and creatively, it would be amazing to see on screen. It would be weird but a good kind of weird.
According to Collider, It’s just not this book that is getting its movie adaptation but King’s other books, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, Salem’s Lot and The Boogeyman are also getting its spotlight.
So are you excited about the movie project? or you would rather stick with the book?
