About the Book- Under One Roof

A scientist should never cohabitate with her annoyingly hot nemesis – it leads to combustion.

Mara, Sadie, and Hannah are friends first, scientists always. Though their fields of study might take them to different corners of the world, they can all agree on this universal truth: when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn….

As an environmental engineer, Mara knows all about the delicate nature of ecosystems. They require balance. And leaving the thermostat alone. And not stealing someone else’s food. And other rules Liam, her detestable big-oil lawyer of a roommate, knows nothing about. Okay, sure, technically she’s the interloper. Liam was already entrenched in his aunt’s house like some glowering grumpy giant when Mara moved in, with his big muscles and kissable mouth just sitting there on the couch tempting respectable scientists to the dark side…but Helena was her mentor and Mara’s not about to move out and give up her inheritance without a fight.

The problem is, living with someone means getting to know them. And the more Mara finds out about Liam, the harder it is to loathe him…and the easier it is to love him.

Our Review of Under One Roof by Ali Hazelwood

Ok I will admit that this book was a last minute squeeze to complete my reading goal for 2022. I mean why not? its a short one plus its an Ali Hazelwood work. Fine I may have only read one book from her so far but it was enough for me to pledge her my alliance. So needless to say I had huge expectations from the book and it both met and didn’t meet my expectations.

I had opted for the audiobook and to be honest the book till the very end seemed to be heading somewhere. It had the same enemies to lover angle and slowly cooked and mind you well cooked romantic chemistry like Love Hypothesis but in this book I felt like suddenly in the last chapter the author decided to stop everything.

Conclusion

So yeah my issue with the book is that it didn’t had a natural story arc. It felt as if the book stopped midway without much explanation but everything sans that is pure gem and maybe thats why I felt the hit so hard.
