Percy Jackson is coming to the screens

Fans of Percy Jackson, here is some good news for you. The Rick Riordan series might have had got its movie adaptation but it received a very mediocre reception and no news were ever heard on sequels or other book being picked up for an adaptation. Until the news of a complete series had started floating and finally in May 2020 an official announcement was made confirming that yes indeed a series is in the works

We can all officially celebrate and mark our calendars as an official teaser and the release date for the series has been confirmed and released by Disney+ where the show will be premiering.

One of the facts that add value to this news is that the Author, Rick Riordan will be an active part of the project. He is also the producer of the show too.

According to reports from Collider, season one of the show will be premiering on December 20th 2023 with a total episode set of 8 with 45-50 mins of running time. And most importantly it is reported that the pilot episode was written by Rick Riordan along with Jonathon E. Steinberg and the pilot episode will be directed by James Bobin, director of the hit live-action film Dora and the Lost City of Gold.

The series will have Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Daughter of Athena Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as the satyr Grover Underwood. These three will form the three central characters that would carry the plot together. Recently Disney+ released an extended teaser for the show which is the reason why the excitement and talks have started again for the series
