Yes, who heard it right? The Twilight saga is ready to hit the screens again from where it all began but from a different perspective. I am sure hardcore fans of the Twilight universe are aware of Midnight Sun. For those who are not aware of Midnight Sun, then let us get you a quick summary of the same. So here it goes…
Midnight Sun is the events of Twilight told from the perspective of Edward Cullen. Stephanie Meyer, the author of Twilight, had announced about Midnight Sun back in 2008 when the Twilight fever was hot in the air. Then there was a leak of the first 12 chapters forcing the author to completely drop the release of the book leaving a lot of fans disappointed. But in 2020 eventually, the book was released and became a mega hit in its first week of publishing. According to The Hollywood Reporter
‘Midnight Sun,’ the much-anticipated companion novel to the ‘Twilight’ franchise, has sold a million copies across all formats in its first week of sales in North America, publisher Little, Brown Books for Young Readers announced Thursday.
Now Netflix has taken on the book to be adapted into a new animated series. They had officially announced it on their site about the same.
Midnight Sun, Stephenie Meyer’s 2020 companion novel to her best-selling book series Twilight, is set to be adapted into a forthcoming animated series, which is currently in development. A retelling of the first entry in the Twilight story, Midnight Sun unfolds entirely from the perspective of Edward Cullen, the captivating, and yes, extremely sparkly vampire who catches a young Bella Swan’s attention.
While it is yet to be seen whether the original cast of the Twilight movie franchise will be part of the project, Meyer is on board as one of the Executive producers. The other details regarding the project are yet to be known.
So are you ready to get back on the vampire trail?
