The book to me perfectly delivered on all the hypes and promises it had created. The book world was not wrong when it said that the book is worth one’s time. The book comes with a lot of twists and turns that makes the book absolutely addictive and worth diving into. I had such an amazing time with the book, Three dark crowns that i can’t wait for sequels.
Three Dark Crowns Official Synopsis
Three sisters. One crown. A fight to the death.
In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.
But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose . . . it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.
The last queen standing gets the crown.
Three Dark Crowns RWAT Take
Three dark crowns as emphasised by its title, is a battle between three crowns, basically three heirs, as to who would be the last standing to make it to the throne and this exhilarating race against time is what makes the book so interesting. The three queens, theirs confidants, teams, the strategies and all the struggles and politics that goes behind reigning in the power makes for an amazing read.
The book wasn’t all glorious for me at first. It actually took a bit time for the book for me to settle down and make it comfortable. As mentioned there are three queens, so the entire first half of the book is basically showing you the three camps, the three queens and the entire entourage. This means that there are a whole bunch of characters and their aspects that one tend to start creating a chart to keep up with who and which camp they belong to. The book thus takes a bit to kind of settle down to its main figures and then the book just sprints into this colourful joyride that there is no stopping the book. The book just ends in a major cliffhanger that one can’t resist . But as someone who had to battle book hangovers, and major cliffhangers in her reading span, i have decided to get back to the series after a while. But in short if you haven’t started the series yet, i suggest keep the second book handy, especially you are a weak heart towards cliff hangers
Three dark crowns is superb and lives upto all the expectations and hypes that surrounds it. Except the fact that the book ends with a cliffhanger and have a major array of characters in the beginning to toil with, the book is perfect in every manner.
