The Possession RWAT Take

Somewhere around, a group of friends must have gathered around and wondered why isn’t there a movie around jewish exorcism? VOILA ! let there be light ! And then came the movie The Possession.

So there is nothing wrong with taking a jewish ankle on the classic tale of Exorcism but the problem is when you can’t justify it. The jewish culture or religious theme in my opinion is vast and offers a lot to explore. What the movie did was just place a Rabbi instead of a priest. This in my opinion was just doing a half hearted attempt.Have they had weaved a plot around jewish religious practices and beliefs and then created a story out of it, I believe this would have been not only a source to bring light to some of the traditional jewish culture but would have been a really different movie experience.

Well apart from that the movie exhibits a lot of half hearted attempt. Even Jeff Morgan didn’t seem to be in his zone. I had trouble with the audio of the movie which was like a ECG chart, toppling and tumbling but not creating the desired effect.

Well technically all in not bad. The Kid, Natasha Calis is amazing and definitely carries the movie forward. The second half is what kind of took the movie down with fast and half hearted attempt but it is definitely worth a try.
