Book review : Savage Beauty by Casey L. Bond

One is day and another is night. One is light while other is dark. The book is the story of two opposite natured sisters and literally like day and night. The core concept of Savage Beauty was interesting and the author had also picked up on the new trend of taking light as the villain and the dark as the good guy. Talk about sibling rivalry and the author had taken it to a murderous level. Phew !! now that is an interesting thing to look forward in a book

Savage Beauty Official Synopsis

Once upon a time, a beautiful queen was cursed by a dark faery. That curse, inherited by twin princesses, Aura and Luna, binds their lives in the strangest of ways. At an early age, the girls were more than sisters. They were the strongest of allies until a combination of jealousy, anger and dark magic tore their relationship to shreds.

Aura took everything from Luna: her home, her family, and her love by murdering the prince who’d chosen her instead of Aura.

Luna wants revenge, but she’s running out of time. She must sever the magical bond tying her life to Aura’s before their eighteenth birthday or be bound to her forever. In desperation, she seeks help from a dark fae prince, but the price is steep – a piece of her soul.

Fate is a real witch. Luna was willing to give up anything to stop her sister, until Prince Phillip of Grithim, the brother of the only man she’s ever loved, falls into her life. Neither of them can fight their attraction, despite their guilt.

With Aura hell-bent on destroying everything she holds dear, Luna must decide whether she wants revenge or Phillip. She can’t have both, and in the end, this may be a battle both sisters lose.

**Savage Beauty is a fairy tale retelling of Sleeping Beauty… with fae witches. 🙂

Savage Beauty RWAT Take

Savage Beauty is fantasy romance that comes with everything that is akin to the genre. Two princess and a knight in shining armour to get the damsel in distress out of well… distress, even if the damsel is a powerful witch. Ok enough with the spoilers. The book is enjoyable, interesting and has a good engaging story and that to me is good enough for me to like a book

The narration and the language of the book keeps it light, simple and an easy read. The book goes through its twists and turns with a comparable ease and somewhere around the romance is seeped into the story seamlessly. This ensured that the book is just not about the whole damsel in distress or the knight in shining armour theory. The book had other aspects of the plot that made it worthwhile to invest your time with.

if you love your YA romances then this would be another potential collection for you as the plot and the story telling makes the book a good read. It sails through the plot very smoothly and seamlessly making it a hassle free yet engaging read.
