With May, comes the season of summer and summer romances. Interestingly in the month of May a lot of powerful dystopian series are knocking the road with their finales and sequels rather than romances. So hang on to us for a while since with this article we are going to unfold the may releases that will be hitting the stores from the Young Adult world, for you this month. I am going to divide may releases in two category:- Sequels and Entrants. Sequels will list all the YA favourites that are finally making an appearance with sequels and in Entrants, I will tell you the new books that are being launched in May
Toping my list of May Releases is the much anticipated
Sequels in May Releases
Releasing on May 15th2018
Author: Victoria Aveyard
The fourth book in the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard comes with a little sad news because this would be the finale for a series that has managed to move thousands and rumour was that the book was even getting a movie deal but nothing much has been let out in that area for now. Though we would stay ourselves glued to find out as to when and if ever the movie is happening. Now I have already read and reviewed two of the books in the series and yet to start third book, I have no intention of being a spoiler brat by giving away the plot and ruining the third book for me or people like myself. So brave yourselves and prepare for the end
A court of Frost and Starlight
Releasing on May 1st2018
Author: Sarah J. Maas
So the thing is I haven’t been to this series yet. Oh yeah !! Go ahead and scream and faint all you want but yes I am guilty as charged. Though in my defense I have read…well kind of in middle of the author’s other series, Throne of Glass . But for those who have already embarked on their journey with Sarah. J. Maas ‘s , A court of Thorns and Roses , Second listing in may releases is A court of Frost and Starlight. it would actually be a novella that is focusing on Feyre , Rhys amidst Winter Solstice and its festivities and the turmoils that come as part of it. Its not an actual sequel
Releasing on May 8th
Author: Julie Murphy
Ok. I never thought that this series would actually get a sequel but here it is. Not that I hated the book or something. In fact I had loved it and was even excited to hear that the book was even picked up for a movie. How cool is that !! Well technically the first book was complete in itself so I never felt that there was a possibility for a sequel. Anyhow for the next in may releases, Julie Murphy is back with the Dumplin series with the second book, Puddin’ (WOW somebody loves their food) . This would more be like a companion novel that will follow the events after what unraveled in the first book
Entrants in May Releases
Releasing on May 29th
Author: Jay Kristoff
A new series for may releases is Life L1k3. Jay kristoff had amazed me with his Nevernight Series. Yes his writing style is completely different and need a bit getting used to but his work is magical and that is the reason why I can’t wait to see as to what he has to offer with his new book which is a science fiction. Since it’s a new book I am going to leave you with the official synopsis without being a spoiler brat
On a floating junkyard beneath a radiation sky, a deadly secret lies buried in the scrap.
Eve isn’t looking for secrets—she’s too busy looking over her shoulder. The robot gladiator she’s just spent six months building has been reduced to a smoking wreck, and the only thing keeping her Grandpa from the grave was the fistful of credits she just lost to the bookies. To top it off, she’s discovered she can destroy electronics with the power of her mind, and the puritanical Brotherhood are building a coffin her size. If she’s ever had a worse day, Eve can’t remember it.
But when Eve discovers the ruins of an android boy named Ezekiel in the scrap pile she calls home, her entire world comes crashing down. With her best friend Lemon Fresh and her robotic conscience, Cricket, in tow, she and Ezekiel will trek across deserts of irradiated glass, infiltrate towering megacities and scour the graveyard of humanity’s greatest folly to save the ones Eve loves, and learn the dark secrets of her past.
Even if those secrets were better off staying buried.

The Favourite Sister
Releasing on May 15th
Author: Jessica Knoll
The other in may releases isThe Favourite Sister by Jessica Knoll. Let me be honest. Her first book wasn’t impressive enough for me. I had read Jessica Knoll’s Luckiest Girl Alive expecting It to be huge because the book was practically everywhere even before it was released but for me personally the book lacked the hype. Anyhow the author is back with her second back and the synopsis was what pulled me in for the book. I am really looking forward to see what her new book has in stores
When five hyper-successful women agree to appear on a reality series set in New York City called Goal Diggers, the producers never expect the season will end in murder…
Brett’s the fan favorite. Tattooed and only twenty-seven, the meteoric success of her spin studio—and her recent engagement to her girlfriend—has made her the object of jealousy and vitriol from her cast mates.
Kelly, Brett’s older sister and business partner, is the most recent recruit, dismissed as a hanger-on by veteran cast. The golden child growing up, she defers to Brett now—a role which requires her to protect their shocking secret.
Stephanie, the first black cast member and the oldest, is a successful bestselling author of erotic novels. There have long been whispers about her hot, non-working actor-husband and his wandering eye, but this season the focus is on the rift that has opened between her and Brett, former best friends—and resentment soon breeds contempt.
Lauren, the start-up world’s darling whose drinking has gotten out of control, is Goal Diggers’ recovery narrative—everyone loves a comeback story.
And Jen, made rich and famous through her cultishly popular vegan food line plays a holistic hippie for the cameras, but is perhaps the most ruthless of them all when the cameras are off

The Smoke Thieves
Releasing on May 1st
Author: Sally Green
My last pick for may releases would be Smoke Thieves.I had read author’s Half Bad series and had absolutely loved it. Her Half Bad series had met with mixed reviews but for me personally it had a fabulous story content. So I am excited to see the launch of her new series, The Smoke Thieves.
A princess, a traitor, a hunter and a thief. Four teenagers with the fate of the world in their hands. Four nations destined for conflict.
In Brigant, Princess Catherine prepares for a loveless political marriage arranged by her brutal and ambitious father. In Calidor, downtrodden servant March seeks revenge on the prince who betrayed his people. In Pitoria, feckless Edyon steals cheap baubles for cheaper thrills as he drifts from town to town. And in the barren northern territories, thirteen-year-old Tash is running for her life as she plays bait for the gruff demon hunter Gravell.
As alliances shift and shatter, and old certainties are overturned, our four heroes find their past lives transformed and their futures inextricably linked by the unpredictable tides of magic and war. Who will rise and who will fall? And who will claim the ultimate prize?
